The robot in Japan about 20 years ago, which is like "WALL-E"

I rarely watch movies but the Pixer movie "WALL-E" made me a fan.

Main reasons are beautiful graphics and directions that tickles a Mac users mind. In addition, the character of WALL-E himself.

In 2008, I saw the TVCM of WALL-E at first. I was not  only fascinated by him,  and also he reminded me of something old days why.

I didn't know why in those days.
I hadn't gone to the movie theatre and time went on.

This spring, I finally got a chance to watch "WALL-E" by TV.
While I watched WALL-E, which moves lovely and comically, I was thinking the reason of something like nostalgia.

Then I got an answer.

WALL-E is similar to the robot that I made about 20 years ago.

The robot is actually a kit of ready-made goods.
Originally, the WALL-E-like robot was sold by the magazine "KODOMO NO KAGAKU" - means "Science of Child."

The name of the robot is OK-02K "TARO".

In the first half of 1990s, I loved reading "KODOMO NO KAGAKU" when I was an elementary school student.
20 years ago / June. 1992
I enjoyed reading science articles such as the brand-new technology.
I also enjoyed making various kits, which was sold by the magazine, such as radio by using a soldering iron.

One day, I found "TARO" of a charming figure in the magazine. I soon asked my father to buy it.

I made TARO by myself and liked it very much.

Then, however, my interest had gradually changed from science to baseball.
I had lost an opportunity to use a soldering iron.
Almost all of kits that I made had gone; still, I kept on displaying TARO on a rack in my room.

In 2012, I remembered TARO by watching WALL-E, and brought out TARO from my old room.

I gazed TARO once more, and I was convinced that TARO is similar to WALL-E.

I understand that it depends on personal subjectivity.
According to Wikipedia, there was a topic that WALL-E is similar to the robot, Number 5 of the movie "Short Circuit."
It might be easy for people to imagine a figure of robot like WALL-E.

Even so, I'm sure the PIXER that created WALL-E doesn't know existence of TARO.

TARO is the robot that was sold as a kit in obscurity by the magazine for Japanese children in the first half of 1990s.
Then 20 years later, PIXAR, known as one of the greatest companies about   computer graphics, created WALL-E, which is similar to TARO by accident.

I wrote this story because I want to tell and share a lot of people in the world this miracle accident as a WALL-E fan.
Thank you for reading such poor English sentence. I hope you enjoyed this.
